The credit union was founded in 1935 to serve employees, retirees, and families of Employer's Mutual. In 1980 Employer's Mutual was renamed to Wausau Insurance Companies, and the credit union's name was changed to Wausau Insurance Employees Credit Union In 1994 the main office at 2600 Pine Ridge Blvd opened. In 1998 Wausau Insurance is acquired by Liberty Mutual Insurance; membership extended to all Liberty Mutual employees and retirees nationwide. In 2003 membership extended to staff, students, and alumni of Northcentral Technical College. In 2003 credit union name changed to Connexus to better reflect growing field of membership 2010: Connexus turns 75!
Membership Requirements
Employees, families, and retirees of Liberty Mutual Insurance, UMR, and their affiliates. Employees, families, students and alumni of Northcentral Technical College.
Anyone in the United States may join the Connexus Association and then be eligible to enroll in the Connexus Credit Union with a one-time $5 donation to the association.
